He is President of the European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy, EMBO member since 2008, winner of an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant, received the Sapio Award for Italian research in 2012 and the Outstanding Investigator Award from&#8217; American Society of Gene and Cell therapy in 2014.
