2037: The Future is our Present
The ethics of progress over the next 20 years. To the future with a global and neutral vision.
At TEDxRoma 2017 we will imagine and design the future for the next 20 years. 2037 is not only the future we are creating now, which is not only the future we are leaving to the new generations, we will see it with our own eyes and experience it through the choices we make, and, in 2037, we will be called to explain the reasons and the underlying meaning for such choices.
It will be a future we will imagine beyond the imaginable, that however needs to be the result of a “slow thinking” process, of a responsible gesture that puts at the heart of it the theme of the ethics of progress as a desired outcome in order to offer humanity a better perspective.
2037 is our close future, but will we be able to transform it into a gift that will contain the solutions to our most pressing issues? Will we be capable of using science and human ingenuity to create the platform of a new society of the future, one that is stronger and more aware than the past?
The themes we will face include questions and answers on frontier technologies, on generational change, on the meaning of democracy and its possible decline. We will speak about the dignity of disclosure, the economy of the future, frontier medicine and, of course, of time.
The sessions will be developed around three significant moments of the passage towards transformation and of the journey that will lead us from our present to the future we want.
