JULIEN ANFRUNS

MEMBER OF THE FRENCH COUNCIL OF STATE

A former General Counsel and CFO of the Louvre Museum, Julien Anfruns is today a member of the French Council of State (Conseil d’Etat) and concurrently the Rapporteur General for the Council for the Public Publications for the French Prime Minister.
During his career, he has been credited for his creativity and expertise that has conducted him to develop innovative and revolutionary means to exploit strategies of cultural goods and to create the brand for the Abu Dhabi Louvre museum project.
He is actively involved as a member of several think tank groups, including until 2014, the Global Agenda Council on the role of arts in society for the World Economic Forum in Davos and the French National Commission on European heritage for the European Commission, a position he has held since 2013.
An alumnus of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), EDHEC Business School and Sciences-Po Paris, Julien was was the General Director of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) between 2008-2013 and President of the International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS), which deals with the protection of heritage in time of armed conflict.
