Researcher in Material Science (Greece-Italy)

Since January 2011 has an appointment as Senior Researcher, responsible for the Smart Materials Group, in the Nanophysics Department of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia at Genoa. From September 2009 to September 2012 she was also coordinating the Smart Materials Platform at the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies of IIT@UniLe, Lecce. She focuses on Smart Materials, such as a special sponge that absorbs spilt oil in the seas, so as to rapidly help clean after an ecological disaster or band-aids containing active moleculs that help heal the cut.
