Emilia Garito is the founder and Chairman of Deep Ocean Capital SGR S.P.A. (an asset management company that launched its first Venture Capital fund in Deep Technologies, aimed at investing in and growing startups and research spin-offs in Italy, particularly in the Aerospace and Healthcare sectors, based on enabling technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and Cyber Technologies). She is also the founder and Chairman of Quantum Leap S.r.l. (a company within the Be. Shaping the Future - Engineering Spa group. Quantum Leap is a national leader in Technology Transfer consultancy, founded in 2010. It operates across all industrial research sectors both in Italy and abroad and has developed proprietary models and tools for intellectual property management, enabling synergies between Research and Industry in line with Open Innovation metrics).

Emilia is a Jury Member for the European Innovation Council (EIC), serving as a European expert in Technology Transfer and Artificial Intelligence. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Association of Innovation Managers (AIIM) and sits on the Strategic and Scientific Advisory Board for the Harmonic Innovation Group project. She has been an Ambassador for the XPrize Foundation in the IBM Watson Artificial Intelligence XPrize competition and was a member of AgID’s (Italian Digital Agency) Artificial Intelligence Task Force.

Named by Forbes in 2023 among the “100 best Italian entrepreneurs and professionals,” she has contributed to numerous articles and books on the ethics and regulation of Artificial Intelligence, as well as on Technology Transfer and industrial innovation policies. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and participates in training programmes for universities and large companies.

She created a unique Technology Transfer management method titled "IP Lifecycle Management," which oversees all stages of intellectual property creation, development, and enhancement. This method supports researchers and industries throughout the innovation process, focusing on accelerating the transformation of scientific content into innovative products that can become competitive and reach the market in the most timely and appropriate manner.

Emilia holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome and completed post-graduate studies at Stanford University (LEAD Postgraduate Executive Course in Finance, Leadership, and Innovation).

After graduating, she began her career in the Defence sector, working as a Project Manager for the Italian Air Force systems and NATO Sales Manager for naval military systems, all within AMS (Finmeccanica Group, now Leonardo S.P.A.).
