SUSAN BARBOUR
#researcher #olfaction #humanconnections
Poet, academic, artist, wine and perfume expert whose latest research explores the role of smell in human connections.
Through her numerous projects, including workshops and performances, she invites the public to rediscover the hidden power of human olfactory intelligence. Extending her work to the environmental crisis, she has designed a perfume collection inspired by “olfactory walks” through endangered ecosystems.
Self-taught visual artist, today she exhibits experimental drawings, prints and installations in art galleries in Los Angeles, New York and around Europe. Author of poems, essays, and academic studies. She is constantly looking for new literary forms to create new meanings on the concept of “loss” and “turbo-capitalism”. She holds a BA in English Literature from Dartmouth College, a Master of Arts in Poetry from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in English Literature from the University of Oxford.
